It’s official: we have a five year old! We celebrated Peyton’s birthday this weekend, with family, school friends, and best friends. I mentioned in an earlier post that we had a surprise planned, and if you follow me on Instagram you already saw it! What do you get the little girl who wants a pony for her birthday?? PONY RIDES for her and her friends!
We were able to track down a local company that sets up on-the-spot petting zoos, complete with pony rides. Peyton was beside herself with excitement, as they unloaded each animal, while London screamed, “DUCK!” at each animal. It was definitely worth it.
The weather agreed with us, and the rain held off until Peyton opened her very last present. However, it was windy. So my original plan for an outside set-up wasn’t going to work. We set up food tables in the garage, but the wall is scratched and dinged because someone (me) is incapable of opening her car doors without hitting the wall (oops!). Fortunately, I had extra horse wrapping paper left after wrapping her presents, and made a make-shift background. I also had made a tassel garland (it was so easy!) and purchased a sequin tablecloth for a friend’s engagement party, so we used those to add to the festiveness. I love the way things turned out, but more importantly, so did the birthday girl. I think we set a new record for times she randomly ran over to David and I, to give us hugs.
Also, a major shoutout to my friend Michelle, who came and took some fantastic photos of the party!
^becasuse what’s a party without some drone shots?
