Peyton’s birthday is coming up, and she wanted a TikTok themed party 😂 We are going with pops of bright pink and blue for the decorations. She and I both love the look of the Stoney Clover Lane bags, but we aren’t big fans of the price tags. I figured it would be a fun project, and we couldn’t be happier with how our DIY Initial Favor Bags tuned out!
What you need
To create these DIY Initial Favor Bags, you will need:
- pvc bags
- letter patches
- shape patches
- double-sided adhesive paper
- scissors
- a pen
What you do:
I posted a Reels video on Instagram, outlining the steps, which you may watch below:

First, trace your patches on one side of the adhesive paper. When cutting, make sure you cut slightly inside your traced lines. You want the adhesive to be slightly narrower than the patches. You’ll do this for each patch, pressing gently.
Next, make sure your PVC bag/surface you’re planning on putting your patch is clean and dry. I want to stress dry, because it won’t stick properly, even if you have hand lotion on! Carefully peel the remaining backing from the patches, and place them on your bag. Once they’re placed, they cannot easily be removed, so plan your design carefully!
Press gently, pressing around the edges of each patch.
Now, if I were applying these patches to a denim jacket, (or really any other material) I would also add a few stitches around the edges to keep them extra secure.
Peyton and I had so much fun picking out the fillers for these DIY Initial Favor Bags!

Would you ever try to make these pouches? You could use the same method to personalize packing cubes for the family, too! Happy crafting!! 😉
