We celebrated London’s 8th birthday a few weeks ago. She’s my “go big or go home” child, so I wasn’t super surprised when she asked me if I could get The Tones and I to come to her birthday party and sing Dance Monkey. (She wildly mis-judged the birthday party budget😂😬), but we ended up turning into a theme: Eight Rocks! A Rockstar Birthday Party, complete with all the disco lights, a playlist created by an 8 and 11 year old, and a giant cookie cake!
Eight Rocks! A Rockstar Birthday Party
(psst. I’ll share all the links at the end of this post, to make things easier!)
For this rockstar birthday party, I wanted the girls to really feel like rockstars. London and I found some hair tinsel clip in extensions and some fun face gems, as well as inflatable instruments. The result was colorful chaos.
You can watch my balloon garland tutorial video on Instagram here! For this rockstar birthday party theme, I used some disco ball balloons and confetti-filled accent balloons to make it extra glam!
London isn’t a big fan of cake, and requested a cookie cake with chocolate fudge frosting. Basically, I made two massive chocolate chip cookies (and baked them in a springform pan). I made tiny cookie sandwiches with the extra cookie dough. A dusting of edible glitter made everything a little more festive, too!

Several things (like the signs) were DIYS and would be super easy to replicate, as well!
The girls partied and danced (and left a trail of tinsel and destruction in their paths 😂😂), so it’s safe to say they had an amazing time. (and it’s also safe to say: we partied like a rockstar and this party kicked my a** 😅)
