Is this real life? My sweet girl, the first baby to turn me into a mommy, is turning FIVE tomorrow. When people told me to enjoy them while they’re babies, I always rolled my eyes…but then I blinked, and here we are. April 28, my original due date with Peyton, five years ago.
She’s a very opinionated girl, and her arriving a day late, is a testament to that. Her smile is contagious, and lights up the entire room. Her imagination never ceases to amaze me; she is always cooking up some game with her sisters. Speaking of her sisters, Peyton has always been my little mama, always quick to help London or Addy. She’s so gentle with them, but her best friend is an older boy (shoutout to his awesome mama).
She loves gymnastics, swim class, school, and soccer. She’ll never turn down a chance to play with the Snapchat filters, or to ask Alexa to play Taylor Swift. In true girl fashion, she wants a pony for her birthday, but will settle for a pony party 😉
I found a bunch of fun birthday questionnaires to ask your kiddos on their birthday, and picked some of my favorite questions. Peyton was so excited for her “birthday interview”:
Favorite color: purple and pink | Favorite food: chicken nuggets and ketchup | Favorite song: Taylor Swift – 22 | Favorite movie: The Little Mermaid | What do you want to be when you grow up: a mommy | Favorite game to play: Easter egg hunts | Favorite animal: flamingos | Favorite holiday: Christmas
Dave and I had her kindergarten parent’s meeting this week, and that was mind-blowing. My little girl is going to get on a school bus, and walk into a classroom like a big girl. I’ll say it again, at the risk of sounding like a sappy parent: where did the time go??
Happiest of birthday eves to Peyton Elise!!
