Memorial Day Weekend

I think we need a long weekend to recover from our long weekend. We went non-stop, ate too much, and stayed out way past everyone’s bedtimes, but it was the perfect unofficial start to the summer! On Saturday, we headed over to our friends’ house on the river, and spent the afternoon at the sandbar (where Adaline fell asleep on me), and then had a cookout at another friends house, where Peyton disappeared with her girlfriends (still so crazy to me how grown up and independent she is now!). London ate her body weight in black olives from my pasta salad (find the recipe here), and Adaline entertained everyone with her dance moves, and has a new favorite song – I’m Too Sexy. It was pretty hilarious!

Sunday, we went to the flower store, and picked out some special red flowers to plant a little red garden outside of London’s bedroom. She calls anything red “elmo” – so she was ecstatic to have her own “elmo garden”.  Then David took Peyton golfing! She is so cute all dressed up in her golf gear. We had dinner and a sunset boat ride at a good friend’s house, and saw their one week old new baby – SOOOOO cute. The boat ride was followed with entirely too many s’mores and sparklers.

Monday, we set up every water toy we have, and just partied in our back yard. It’s so fun to see all the girls playing together, since Adaline can get around and almost keep up.

We had just a taste of summer, and it felt good! I cannot wait for all the fun we are going to have! Peyton has less than 2 weeks left in the school year – I cannot believe how quickly it has flown by! Bring on summer!!
