Over the weekend, we invited our neighbors to hop on over for some frog hunting fun, to celebrate London’s 6th birthday! Every spring, literally hundreds of tiny frogs hatch in our yard/pond, and the kids love catching them. This spring, the excitement over the frogs hit a little differently, as I am sure you can imagine. Frog hunting became a nightly thing for the girls and their neighborhood posse.
London requested a “frog hunt party” this year, and it couldn’t be more perfect for her. London knows what she wants, and I can always count on her to come up with a VERY unique party theme. Here’s a peek at London’s 6th Birthday Frog Hunt!
You can scroll through the photos for more details, and links/sources will be listed at the bottom of the post!
The glow sticks and flash lights worked out perfectly, because they helped the parents see all the kids once it got dark! For favors, every child got to take a net, flashlight, a ton of glow sticks, and a froggie headband home!
Of course I filmed a HEYITSCAKES video for the cake and these adorable donuts! You can watch that in my Highlights, here.
We had some Mexican blankets set up, off to the side, so the kids could do tattoos and paint rocks! The rest of the time, the kids just ran around the forest, climbed our waterfall, searching for frogs, and ate s’mores! We also had a piñata, which held everyone’s attention way longer than I anticipated!
I told Dave this was the best party we’ve ever thrown, and he had to agree it was pretty high on the list! The parents actually all got to sit and talk – it was a real birthday miracle!
Birthday girl, taking first swing at the piñata!
I think the group caught a grand total of 7 frogs, including this fella the Birthday Girl caught!
It was SUCH a magical night, and seeing London beaming as she shouted, “BYE!!!!” to each of her friends at the end of the night was worth fitting that balloon garland through the sliding door for! ????

This is perfect! And absolutely similar to my little girls bay desires! Did you create an invitation you would be willing to share?
