This morning was one of those mornings. I woke up, unable to speak, and in desperate need of tea. Of course, I was out of my favorite k-cups. Peyton overslept for school, so I had to rush to get her and Lo dressed and out the door for Pre-K drop-off. Halfway out of the neighborhood, I realized I had forgotten to feed Peyton breakfast. Hold your applause, please. Fortunately, we were heading to Starbucks anyway. Instead of a “mildly healthy” breakfast sandwich, she insisted on a snowman cookie and chocolate milk. I hadn’t had my caffeine, and still couldn’t speak, so it wasn’t worth the fight.
At her pre-school, if the kids are there before 8am, they may eat breakfast. So we waltz into her classroom, and I get her all set up with her snowman cookie and chocolate milk…as all the kids circle around, asking if it’s Peyton’s birthday. Her teacher told P what a “special breakfast” she had, as P dove into her cookie. I looked at her teacher, and said, “It was just one of those mornings.” She smiled, and took a picture of us with the “special breakfast.” They use an app, so we get to see photos throughout the day and see updated lesson plans (the stalker mom in me LOVES it), so I just knew this was coming:
A sugar cookie and chocolate milk before 8am counts as dairy and grains…right?
Hahahah! I love it!!!! I bet Peyton didn’t think it was a mom fail!!
Oh it was her favorite morning ever! lol
LOL! We’ve all been there! I love that the teacher documented it!!
My moment of mom shame is forever documented!! lol
