Thanksgiving is going to be SUPER easy for us this year, as we are heading across the state to my parent’s house. Which means I don’t need to shove my hands in the business end of a turkey. Win. I have been busy planning my apps/side dishes. I am making a basic pasta salad. Both girls will eat that, so it makes the whole “picky four year old” thing a lot easier. I’m also doing a veggie tray (fun tip: I cut the top off a pepper, like a pumpkin, and gut it, then fill it with dip, and use that as the dip holder on the tray. It’s a super fun way to dress up a veggie tray, and literally takes no effort!). I made the Famous Fitch Cinnamon Butter yesterday. I’ve been making this for Thanksgiving since I was little with my mom! The recipe is super easy:
Gently whip 1 stick of room-temperature butter for about 30 seconds. Add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 honey, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Whip again about 2 minutes, or until it’s at a fluffy consistency. I usually make it one or two days in advance, and store it in a mason jar in the fridge until time to eat it. It tastes just like the butter at Logan’s Roadhouse.
It’s super nice to not have to floor-to-ceiling clean, and then worry about the dishes. But that means there isn’t much point to decorating (sad face). I have had my eye on these placemats from Target. They would be so cute with a gold charger plate!

I’ll also be fighting the crowds and Black Friday shopping with one of my best friends. This will be our 6th consecutive year – woot woot! We definitely won’t be the crazies out at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day (no judgement if that’s you, it’s just not my thing). I’ll be back posting some of my Cyber Monday Picks, if none of the crowds are your thing 😉
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
