When we built our house, Peyton was an only child. Two months prior to our move-in day, we found out we were expecting London. Fast forward another year, and here comes another baby. In our original floor plan, David had a “man cave”. It was open to the rest of the family room, but I had conceded a foosball/pool table, and even an old school arcade game or two. However, life happens, and dad of the year gave up his area for the girls! Slowly, we have been decorating it. It’s a task, since it is open to the rest of the downstairs, so we have to find the balance between organized and practical. I mean, most times, Peyton cooks in the play kitchen while Lo plays her favorite game “take everything out of every drawer”.
Over the weekend, David and I made the most of our extra hour, and did some hardcore “fall cleaning”. I still want to find a killer bookshelf or floating shelf, but for now, I think we are happy with how it looks! Here are some photos, with sources listed at the end.
art prints | babe cave flag | gym mat | tent | faux fur rug | rocking horse | books here, here, and here | abc pillow | heart pillow | wood puzzle | piano | play kitchen
And of course, we get it all finished up for inside play during these cooler months, and what happens? We have random 75 degree days!
What are those colorful egg shaped looking things and the white table? Those are awesome!! ????????????
Thank you, we loooove them!! It’s a discontinued table and chair set from steelcase. We had to track it down overseas, and unfortunately, it was one of the last ones ever made! Similar “surfboard” tables are available on wayfair and hayneedle though!
Thanks so much!!!
I just love those pictures in the frames!! Where did you buy the frames?
We got them professionally framed!
I love the modern kitchen! It looks like my real kitchen! And that rocking chair is so precious!! It’s like art!
That’s the only way my husband is ok with them being out in the open haha
Love how you decorate!!
Thanks!!
Love how you styled this space!
I love that you have this space for your girls! You have such a nice, modern home, but it is refreshing to see spaces being used practically for the stage your family is at in life!
