Today is an exciting day at the McFarland household. I’m mostly pumped because the girls are napping at the same time! *fist pump* But, today is also the 29th, which means London is 8 months old!!
Eight months old, and entirely too busy deciding if this flower is edible to look at the camera. London has perfected the art of the backwards crawl, and is dabbling in moving forward. Lo loves having her cheeks and feet kissed. She’s eating more food than is probably normal for her age (girl loves errrrthang). She will pound 2 things of baby green beans in one sitting, then crush the containers on her forehead. Joking. Kinda. Lo loves to be outside, but refuses to sit on the grass. Which is ok, because she mostly just tries to eat it anyway. She is beyond obsessed with big sis, and laughs and flails whenever P comes into the room. She is generally just really squishy and pudgy and completely huggable. She is such a determined little girl and she is all ours.
It is also Big Sister’s last day of school!!! I think I was more emotional today than her first day of school (which is saying a lot because I was pregnant then!) She kept saying how excited she was to go to school this morning, and how much she loves her friends. She has the sweetest little heart. She’s already asking when the leaves will change (since she knows she gets to go back to school in the Fall) – we will see if she likes school this much when she’s 15!
It’s another muggy day, so we went out for celebratory ice cream, which involved Petyon spilling ice cream all over her shirt, and London attempting to dive out of my arms, with a wide-open mouth. Hot mess express. It was also brought to my attention that Superman Ice Cream is not a whole country thing…apparently it’s a Michigan/mid-west thing?! I am personally so sorry for you if you’ve never experienced this goodness. Vernors, too. #realtalk
We spent the rest of the afternoon outside, playing with chalk and going for lots of wagon rides. London is finally big enough to sit up in the wagon without falling face first into Peyton’s lap. So that’s fun for everyone.

In other news, David is out of town on a golf trip. We are having fun at our little “girl party” as Peyton calls it. Which means leaving my straightener on the bathroom counter. YOLO.
My friend and I are heading across the state Sunday to meet up with my college bestie to see Lana Del Rey! We saw her last year and it was a BLAST. This one is outside and it should have a Coachella-esque vibe. I cannot wait!!
P has changed so much since her first day!!! Wow! And happy 8 months to miss London
ughhhhh you’re telling me! she’s grown up so much! (both of them! lol)
P looks so proud!! She’ll enjoy a summer with her family! Looove londobs eyelashes!
Oh gosh. London’s*
it’s late 😉
and I think in a few weeks, she won’t even remember school hahaha. joking. but I’m sure we can find ways to make family time tolerable until school starts again 😉
Is London big for her age or is Peyton really petite? Sorry! They just look much closer in age than 4 and 8 months!!
A bit of both! p has always been small, and Lo hit a growth spurt around 4 months and hasn’t stopped!
