The Mom-Approved Outdoor Summer Essentials
First and foremost: sunscreen. This is a must for kiddos in the summer. We love COOLA! It smells amazing, dries quickly, is water-proof up to 80 mins, and has never irritated the girls’ skin. We are obsessed with the COOLA Face Mist. It’s SPF 18, and very easy to apply (especially on wiggly toddlers that just won’t stand still for face lotion).
The girls have been rocking Pediped water shoes for the last several summers. These shoes are comfy and breathable – and best of all – machine washable, which comes in SO clutch, if the girls have been running through the sprinklers, or are playing on the beach.
Favorite Outdoor Summer Toys
Most of our neighbors have little boys, which means the girls are well-equipped when it comes to Nerf guns. We have this bug “Mack Daddy” Nerf, but typically, the girls opt for guns like this one. You can never have enough extra Nerf bullets, too! We like to stock up on the off-brand sets on Amazon (since they’ll likely get stuck on the roof or run over by the lawnmower anyway 😅).
Also! My go-to gift for boys right now are these Nerf accessory sets! They’re both practical and hilarious. I cannot help but laugh when I see the neighbor boys running around with a vest loaded with foam bullets, and a skull mask on 😂😂
We also just got this ninja line!! How fun, right?! We are lucky to live in a wooded area, and have lots of big trees to attach things from… just like our spider swing!! This is another HUGE favorite with all the kids year after year!
These bug/frog catching nets are leftover from London’s birthday party, but the kids still play with them! I was actually shocked by how long these little nets have lasted, with the amount of use they get!
That is some real, hardcore frog-catching fun, guys! And look at her smile!
