Do you ever just take a step back, and watch your kids play? One of my favorite things is to stand just within earshot, and listen to their conversations and imaginations at work. I love seeing them invent games and call all the shots. My girls truly have the most fun when they are being kids – it’s what they do best.
With 2 wooded acres of land, the girls love to run around and play freely. They explore the outdoors and, to be honest, they really do have the most fun in the simplest of ways.
Today, a walk in the backyard, to pick up sticks from the most recent rainstorm, turned into a magnificent battle between the pirates and The Good Captain. One of our landscape rocks became The Ship. They each found the perfect stick for their pirate swords, buried their rock treasure, and laughed and played outside from the time Peyton got off the bus until I had dinner ready. They got a little dirty and had a lot of fun.
