I posted a quick InstaStory of our fridge the other day, and got a bunch of questions about the containers I used, how things stayed fresh, etc. I figured it’d be easier to knock all your questions out with a fun fridge organization post, like what I did with the Pantry Organization post! So here we go!
I will be the first to admit we don’t always east as healthily (is that a word? it is today!) as we should, BUT! We are making a major effort to eat better this year. David and the girls could live on yogurt, so that’s a staple in our house. Cheese sticks, too. Those make for great snacks throughout the day.
We love using a spring mix for our salads, so I always buy the big container of that at the grocery store. We love using the Marzetti Simply Dressed dressings for our salads.
I have found that if we keep veggies and fruits washed and cut, that we will snack on those throughout the day, instead of grabbing a sweet or chips. It also makes packing school lunches and snacks a lot easier! A few things we always keep on hand are: blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapefruit, kiwi, bell peppers, baby carrots, and cucumbers! (and don’t forget the pickles and Dave’s beer!)
I love to store our food in these glass containers in the fridge. I love using it for our leftovers too, and the best part, they are dishwasher and oven-safe! Peyton and Addy are big fans of my pasta salad, and I keep a stash in there!
A few organizational tips:
- Things look more organized instantly if they are all stored in the same type of container.
- If you can, try to store things color-coded. It might sound crazy. But I absolutely love seeing a little rainbow of fruit containers.
- When getting started cleaning your fridge, it’s a MUST to take everything out and wipe it down.
- Check the expiration dates on condiment lids, and it wouldn’t hurt to open the lids and wipe down any excess gunk.
- Stock up on clear bins, and keep like foods together. I keep all the girls snacks and yogurts together, so its easy for them to reach!

It’s a very thoughtful way of storing fruits and veggies.
And they stay so fresh! Easy snacking!
Your fridge is seriously amazing. I’m impressed!
Thank you so much!!
And now I have fridge envy. lol Can you please come over and organize mine? Seriously though, our 4L jug of milk takes up so much room, but we go through it would not make sense to buy smaller quantities. Also, I need to contain the condiments. That would help a lot.
I had forgotten that I own a couple of glass containers. I should be using those more often. So handy!
Thank you so much! We aren’t huge milk drinkers, but I know they make glass jugs and carafes. Unsure how milk would keep in one, though!!
This is so tidy! I’m jealous lol.
Thank you!!
I’ve slowly have gotten my fridge to be organized. I need to get more containers to get it organized, i need to find those.
It’s a total game changer!! And helps us eat healthier!
My fridge is not really organized whenever I buy groceries and cooked food for the fam. This looks really great and something that I really need.
Oh for sure!!
Your fridge is so organized, very impressive! And these glass containers sound so great.
Thanks so much! It feels so good to have it done!
One day our fridge will look like this 😀 . I do the same with fresh fruit and veggies; keeping them washed and ready to eat increases the likelihood that the kids will reach for them first. We also just avoid buying sweets and salty snacks as much as possible. We love them just like everyone else does so we find that if we don’t keep them in the pantry we aren’t tempted!
Yes! That works so well for us! Especially in the summer – we just take a few containers outside with us to snack on as we play!
This is a great idea for space saving, keeping food fresh and also organising the fridge. Being glass too it’s really easy to see where everything is!
Yes! I have this thing with clear containers. Looks so much neater, and I love seeing what’s in everything, and what we are running low on!
I wish my fridge looked like that! I definitely find myself wasting so much food because we have no idea what’s in there. I need to work on that, thanks for the tips!
That’s one of the reasons why i was so motivated to do this!! Good luck!
Your fridge looks amazing. It’s so organized … I wish my fridge is that tidy. Glass containers are awesome. Great tips!
Thanks!! It’s a bit time consuming, but once you do it, it’s easy to maintain!
What a nicely organized fridge. Mine does not look like that today. Maybe tomorrow!!
😉 good luck!
Omg I have serious fridge envy right now! It’s huge!
Thanks so much!
This is brilliant… I try to stay organized but with teenagers nothing stays where it belongs.
Ugh! That’s a glimpse into my future!!????
If you could see my fridge now you would be appalled. I need to organize and clean it badly!
Spring cleaning challenge!!
Wow this is great! Now that I am starting Whole30, I feel like I need this in my life ASAP! Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome!! My husband and I keep talking about wanting to do whole30 but we haven’t committed!!
We recently made the switch to glass containers and love them! I love the way you organized your fridge. It looks so good!
Thanks! Doesn’t it feel better when things are neatly contained!?
i’m horrible about eating fruits and veggies too when they aren’t chopped up and ready!
My husband is the same way! If I keep them ready to go, he eats so much better!!
Being organizer in everything is so great. and your fridge is so organized and clean. I think I need to be more organized now.
You have so much space! I wish our fridge looked as gorgeous and organized as yours lol… it is super messy
You didn’t see what this looked like before I started making a conscious effort to organize it!! Once you do it, it’s a lot easier to maintain!
your fridge is a DREAM!
