I feel like I will need to put at least a dozen disclaimers on this post: but, no. I am not pregnant. I repeat, we are not having a baby boy. I do, however, have a handful of friends who are all expecting sweet little baby boys. I have been having the best time, picking out boyish things – since my world is pretty much princesses and a combo of pink and purple!
I am so exciting to share some favorites I found, which would be perfect shower gifts for a mama friend who is expecting a boy! Let’s jump right in!
First things first, you need to cover your basics. Babies need to be washed, so right off the bat, I go for Tubby Todd. Their products smell amazing, and are gentle to use on sweet little baby skin.
Speaking of their sweet little skin, you can’t skip out on great linens. I love Madly Wish for blankets, crib sheets, and changing pad covers! This blue linen blanket is light enough to be used all summer-long. Stella and Lu makes the best lovey blankets ever. Adaline is obsessed with hers. They have a huge variety of prints, so you can go as muted or as bright and bold as you want — and then you can completely customize the backing and the ribbon color! So fun!
We are big fans of our Lil Sidekick. It’s a very modern take on a pacifier clip. I love it because it’s silicone, so it washes easily, and the adjustable strap allows you to attach toys, bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers – pretty much anything your kid could throw! It’s one of those things no body thinks to register for, but every time someone sees us with it in public, they stop and ask about!
The Ju Ju Be Helix from their XY Collection would be awesome for a new dad! It’s everything you need in a diaper bag, without the frills and bright colors. Do you know how many eye rolls I get from David with our floral bags and purple baby carriers? Worth it ๐ But, for a little boy, I would go with black all the way! I love how this bag can be worn as a messenger bag, or as a crossbody bag! You can’t forget one of Ju Ju Be’s cute bibs, too! I love their easy-to-clean design, and I love the magnetic closure!
You guys all know we are HUGE ZoLi fans. The ZoLi DASH will forever be our favorite water bottle. But for little ones, you should check out their teething sticks. I also love to add in some goodies for a baby shower that grow with the baby. The ZoLi mash is a sleek, modern-looking bowl and spoon set. The perfect size for babies 6 months and up, to start experimenting with food!
Speaking of teethers, my girls loved the Comotomo teethers. Their bottles are amazing too. Instead of glass or hard plastic, these bottles are soft and squeezable. They mimic breastfeeding, so they make that transition to a bottle a little less stressful!
Guys, I might have stumbled upon one of the coolest baby monitors ever. Have you heard of the Lollipop? First off, it has the coolest design ever. The handle is bendable, so it can attach virtually anywhere! Secondly, it doesn’t have a receiver that will take up space on your counter/night stand. You simply download their app.ย ย Theย Lollipop Smart Baby Cameraย is the only wifi baby monitor with audio mode for overnight monitoring, and also features a data chart to see when your baby is crying and when environment is noisy! Check out their website to learn more, but I cannot say enough good things about this camera!ย
One of my favorite things in life is baby wearing. There is nothing like the added closeness of wearing your baby, while having the freedom to keep up with older kids and housework! I remember days when London fussed whenever she was set down, baby wearing was a whole new world for us, but London loved it, and I was able to keep up with Peyton! We wore Adaline right from the get go, and Tula is our favorite. Their carriers are easy enough to not need an extra set of hands to get set up, and they come in a ton of fun prints! (Again, Dave isn’t the biggest fan of our purple floral one, and told me a boy dad would want a “strong color”). I think this indigo free-to-grow carrier would work perfectly!
You know me. I like to forego a gift bag, and stock up a diaper bag full of goodies for a shower gift. So, once you’ve picked your favorites, go to town with your bag. It never hurts to add in a cute book or a little toy, too!
What are your baby must haves? Or do you have any baby boy goodies that you’d consider a must? I would love to hear it!
I have so many friends giving birth to babies and every time I have to scratch my head to think what to buy and which brands are good for baby. Now, with your list, I can reference and decide what to get for them. I have never heard about Tubby Todd and now with your intro, I will have some peace of mind to try out.
Glad I could help! There are so many baby products, itโs overwhelming sometimes!!
These are all such great items! So super cute!
Thanks!!
I have a 2 year old boy and I wish I knew about Tubby Todd! I remember trying a dozen baby soaps and not being able to stand the way most smelled. I settled on Shea Moisture.
Completely agree on the Tula wrap/carrier. I used mine so many times, and their designs are so cute!
Some things I figured out I needed as I went along:
1) I didn’t always want to lug around a huge diaper bag. Skiphop portable changing stations were great for traveling or for popping in a bag/the car when you’re in a hurry.
2) Bandana drool bibs! I remember first seeing a baby wear one in a mommy&me yoga class, and I thought it was just a cute, stylish accessory. In a few months, drooling became a problem, and when I googled solutions I figured out what that cute bandana was really for! So helpful!
Ah yes!! I forgot to include bandana drool bibs! Our second daughter was SUCH a drooler! Those saved many outfits!
Tubby Todd would still be worth checking out for you! They make bath bombs and my girls are obsessed!
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted to get the baby monitor so I could spy on my cats.
Ha!! Before we had kids, my husband totally set up a baby monitor to spy on our dog ???? so i get it!
Next time I get Pregnant Iโm inviting you to my baby shower because you give the best freaking gifts ever! Love every bit of this gift guide! I habe A friend due at the end of March and Iโm totally stealing some of your ideas!
Hahha Iโll totally come ????????????
Oh wow, these are great stuff for a baby boy. My sister is pregnant with a baby boy. I may need to have all of these for her.
Sheโd love it all!
I’ve never had to shop for a baby before, but if I ever do – I know this post will really come in handy!
