S’more Fun

One of our favorite ways to spend early fall evenings is fireside. There’s nothing better than cuddling up with Dave and the girls around the firepit. Except for maybe cuddling up around the firepit with s’mores.  It usually ends with melted chocolate everywhere, and Peyton covered in marshmallow goop and possibly waving around a blazing marshmallow while yelling, “HELP ME!”, but it’s totally worth it. October eves are the best! The sun is setting over the pond next to our house, and that view cannot be beat, and the nights are cool, but not freezing yet. Still, the girls were still excited to wear their new hats, but we are probably a few weeks out from actually needing to wear them.

Do you have a favorite s’more recipe? Some people get really involved, like this pin. We’ve learned over the years that Peyton is our little s’mores purist. She’s just about the basics: graham, chocolate, marshmallow, graham. London is happy to eat anything, as long as a marshmallow is involved. We like to substitute Reese’s for a Hershey bar, but if we are in a pickle (or if I’ve been too lazy to grocery shop), we’ll spread peanut butter on the graham cracker and then add the Hershey bar. I like to add raspberries and strawberries to mine too, because who doesn’t love chocolate covered fruit?!
