Am I the only one who cannot believe it’s already the end of July?! Adaline is almost 6 months old, and Peyton starts kindergarten next month – insane. We are trucking right along on our summer to-do list, and this week’s outing was blueberry picking!
[Fun fact: My tiny, tiny hometown’s claim to fame is blueberries (there is even a Blueberry Festival!), but I have never been blueberry picking!]
I did way too much googling to find the perfect farm for us. I had some criteria: it couldn’t be more than 30 mins away, they needed to also have raspberries (because, yum), and they had to supply us with containers.
The girls were so excited in the car. London heard the word “blueberries” and was ready for whatever we were doing, and Peyton couldn’t believe we got to be farmers. David even took the morning off of work to come along! Because Summer Bucket List > Work.
London ate more berries than she put in her bucket, and probably a few ground berries, while Peyton raced from bush to bush, looking for the biggest berries. We went home with a few pounds of berries. I had some big, baking plans for them, but the girls put a pretty sizable dent into our stash. Something about fruit they picked must taste better 😉
