Zoo Day

Peyton woke me up this morning by poking me repeatedly in the forehead and telling me it wasn’t raining. About a week ago, I had promised her we would go to the zoo. Steal trap, this one. We got out butts in gear, and made it to the zoo right as it was opening. We had perfect weather! High 60s, and lots of sun – not to hot!

Peyton INSISTS on getting a map each time, and proudly announces which animals she wants to see. Today, it was the monkeys and flamingos. (although she was super excited about the ducks, squirrels, and a chipmunk…all of which were not part of the zoo exhibits). Lo is such trooper. She was awake and singing in the stroller the whole time, then passed out almost instantly upon getting in the car.

The zoo was pretty empty since it was so early, so we had a lot of the animals to ourselves, which is always fun!

Thankful to be behind glass, since that bear and tiger seemed extra interested in the girls! These stroller cards came in our Citrus Lane box this month, and I LOVE THEM. I thought I would get creative this morning [read: I didn’t wash my hair and it looked awful] so I attempted a French braid. I can braid Peyton’s hair with my eyes closed, however, my hands got all mixed up behind my head, and I ended up with a Dutch braid. It was one of those times when a fail worked out!
