Dad’s are kind of the unsung heroes in our day-to-day lives, so it’s nice to celebrate them (once in a while – we don’t want to inflate their egos too much!!)
David is playing in a golf tournament this Friday and Saturday, which leaves Sunday for family time. We usually start the morning out with a lazy morning in bed, topped doff with blueberry pancakes – per daddy’s request. It’s supposed to rain Sunday, which is killing our cook-out vibe, so we will probably end up out to eat somewhere with Dave’s dad.
As for presents, David is THE HARDEST guy to shop for. He doesn’t really need anything. And anything he wants, he just goes and buys for himself. So I have to get creative. For his 30th birthday, I attached 30 things (small gifts or little notes) to 30 balloons, and scattered them throughout the living room while he was in the shower. SURPRISE! And for his 32nd, I had friends and family send me 32 memories of Dave, I stuffed them into envelopes and arranged them into a giant 32 on the wall.
Admittedly, I put a lot less effort into Father’s Day than his birthday. Last year, I got him a set of outdoor can holders, so he doesn’t have to risk spilling his beer while playing bags or washers. They were a huge hit, and we’ve since bought another set.
This year, Peyton (with a little help) made a cute little book about dad, she’s beyond excited to give it to him. (You can view the free printable here!)
And here are some other ideas:
bocce ball set | funny golf shirt | DILF socks (need these for me haha) | grill tools | battery iPhone case
sources:
peyton’s dress | peyton’s mocs | london’s bloomers | london’s mocs
Let’s cross our fingers that the rain misses us this weekend, so Dave can bust out his drillmaster skills, I have been dying to try this shrimp kabob recipe!
Ah! I didn’t think they came out with the 6+ mophie cases yet!!! Perfect for my husband! Thank you!
And ps. The balloon idea is SO cute!!!!
Yeah! They have the mophie for the 6 plus, but not the life proof case yet! And thank you! He was certainly surprised to see all the balloons haha
You keep talking about your husbands golf tournaments…does he golf professionally? Just curious! And London’s pony tail is Soooo cute! No helmet? Did she graduate???!!!
Dave wishes! Haha they’re tournaments hosted by our country club, they can win money but they’re hardly professional!!
London is in the helmet until the end of July, maybe a little longer!
The keurig Mini Brewer is a good choice for a person who is hard to shop for too!!
You always have the cutest posts!! thanks for sharing!
