Father’s Day Weekend

The weekend started off with Dave winning his flight in the golf tournament he played in. And of course this was one of the few tournaments in the city that gives out trophies. Dave carried it around all Saturday night at the dinner/after party, and then insisted on putting it on his nightstand that night. I gave him a lot of crap about it, but I couldn’t be more proud of him!

For the dinner, I experimented with front row braids (again, wearing my extensions), and  LOVED how it turned out:

Peyton woke Dave up bright and early Sunday morning with a tackle/hug and an extremely loud, “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” After church, we had a cookout with my brother and Dave’s dad. It was SO hot, but hey – it didn’t rain!

The menu consisted of grilled asparagus, burgers, dogs, brats, pasta salad, cucumbers in vinegar (because, yum), and chips and dip! My kind of summer meal! I had a ton of Oh! Joy for Target items hoarded, so we used those for the table setting. After dinner, we played a 2523 game bags tournament. In which, my brother and I killed Dave and his dad. (Just because it’s Father’s Day doesn’t mean I have to let him win!)

We joked that the tablecloths were all laid out on the grass for the picnic when the girls were playing in the grass. Also, is anyone else’s baby ridiculously unhappy about being in grass??? London hated it.

All in all, we had a fantastic weekend, and Dave’s trophy is now out of the bedroom, but currently on our shelves right when you walk in the house. Trying to get it out of the main area and into his office. Wish me luck this week 😉
