Lions, magic, and London – OH MY! 😉 I admit I was at a bit of a loss when London requested a “magical lion” birthday party. But I just so happen to be in the business of making dreams come true – so we made it happen. Here’s a peek at London’s magical lion birthday party!
But first, can we just take a moment? How is London turning 7 already?! She has grown into such an independent, creative, smart little girl. She knew exactly what she wanted for her party and cake, and Dave and I worked hard to make her birthday the most special day ever — that night, she told us it was mission accomplished!
Magical Lions Party Decor
It just so happened a few of my favorite party goods stores had “magic show” as theme option (so maybe London is onto something with this theme here? Haha). I also made a balloon garland, which might have been one of the longest balloon garlands I’ve ever made! I even made a Reels video on Instagram with a step-by-step guide:

Here are a few other photos of the decor, and everything will be linked below:
I made the little box displays, mostly because I knew we would be in the garage due to windy weather. I wanted to block the shelving a bit, and also make it a little more festive inside! To make them, I spray painted two boxes, and added velvet fabric. I cut out shapes from the plates, and glued them inside, along with some lion figurines!
I even managed to find “magical lions” – get it? Abra and Cadabra! I purchased these lion standees, and added the letters from a garland I took apart.
The favor boxes were filled with a pop-it keychain and a few of these cute magic trick sets. The kids all grabbed a magician hat and a magic wand (which we just hot glued ribbon, yard, and stars to) and put on lots of mini magic shows throughout the party!
Magical Lions Cake and Treats
London was very specific, she saw this cake topper while we were shopping for plates and napkins. We bought it immediately. She told me she wanted a chocolate cake “with lots of blue, but different blues. But also white”.
I understood the assignment 😉
We also served popcorn and ombre sugar cookies! The kids ate us out of house and home — which was a first! We usually end up with a TON of leftover cake!
London and her friends had a blast playing and celebrating all afternoon. The best part about having a party outside/in the garage is you get to go inside to a clean house afterwords 😉
Happy birthday, London!!
