I cannot believe Spring Break is just around the corner! A week at the beach is just what we need this time of year in Michigan. Everyone else is posting photos in cute dresses and shorts, and we are still bundled up in snow boots and winter jackets. We are headed to one of our favorite spots in Florida, and I am starting to get organized for packing. Today, I am sharing what I’m taking on Spring Break for a week at the beach with the kiddos!
What I’m Taking on Spring Break
- yeti steel water cup
- beach pouch
- quick drying towel
- tripod
- shelling bags
- bikinis pouch
- find and seek beach game
- liplux with SPF
- scalp + hair mist
- refreshing water mist with SPF
- hair detangler
- spray sunscreen
Sun Protection
Sun protection is SO important for us, so when I think about what I’m taking on Spring Break, sunscreen is at the top of the list. We are big fans of COOLA sunscreen. It never gets oily, and it never dries and peels up (so gross when sunscreens do this!), it also is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, and smells amazing.

Instead of spraying the girls’ heads with sunscreen, I’ve been using COOLA’s Scalp & Hair Mist. It smells amazing, and is hydrating for your hair and scalp. It also protects the girls’ heads from the sun, since they rarely keep hats on!
You can also read a bit more about our faves from COOLA in this blog post from last summer!
Staying Organized
I feel better when everything has a place! These pouches from Stoney Clover Lane are so fun! You can shop their “Take Out” collection (which are ready-to-ship), or customize your own design! I have a few of these pouches and bags, and love them!
Other Must Haves I am Taking on Spring Break
I rarely go to the beach or pool without my Unite Detangler! This is literally the best detangler you will EVER use. It smells amazing, your hair never dries all hard and crunchy, and it legit works – even when you have a 6 year old who likes to take her hair out of the pony and roll around in the sand and water!
Obviously, we are taking our shelling bags along with us! These were SO handy to have when we were walking with the girls on the beach! Usually, they end up filling up my beach bag and the pockets of Dave’s swim trunks with their treasures. Now, they have their own bags!
I also love this tripod. It’s so small, but it’s telescopes to be really tall! This is how we snap our beach sunset photos and family photos while on vacation 😉
I also just got a few towels from Slowtide, after hearing rave reviews! Apparently these towels repel sand and dry super fast!! Did I mention they’re super cute, too? Sounds like a mom win!
Obviously, I am packing more because I am the Queen of Overpacking, but these are the “essentials” for what I’m packing for Spring Break!
