Do you ever stop to think, “why am I doing this?” or “how did I get here?” Oftentimes, the answer is simple, something you might not have even noticed at the time that had impacted your life. Because sometimes it’s the smallest moments that have the biggest impact.
We recently read a story by Mo Willems that really got me thinking. This spring, London will be starting soccer. She is SO excited – she’s been spotted practicing her dribbling and “cool poses for soccer” in the mirror. Because London grew up on the sidelines of her big sister’s soccer games, she asked to play soccer. Finally, this spring, she is old enough to play AYSO!
From running up and down the sidelines, cheering on her big sister, to buying her first pair of cleats and shin guards, London has developed a love and excitement for soccer!
Because, written by New York Times best-selling author and illustrator Mo Willems, composes a powerful symphony of chance, discovery, persistence, and magic in this moving tale of a young girl’s journey from a seat at the symphony, to center stage. Illustrator Amber Ren brought Willems’ music to life perfectly in Because.
Because is so engaging – which is expected from Mo Willems, who is a big favorite in our home. This book touches on a powerful life lesson, while the story in Because remains so inspiring. It teaches that hard work pays off (with a little luck). The result can be magical, but it does not happen overnight. One action can lead to another, and another, and further down the chain of events, a life is changed – inspiration is found.
Because is new to shelves this March, and you can purchase it here.
So tell me, what has inspired you lately? Can you think back to that “because” moment where everything sort of fell into place, and you knew your direction?
I love finding new books for my girls to read before bed!
Oh me too ????????
What age would you reccomend this book for?
My oldest is 7 and enjoys it – she can read it by herself. My younger two love it – the illustrations are so engaging!
That said, I absolutely adore this book too! The message is not lost on me!
