Is there any sweeter scene that watching your kiddos reading with each other, in the light of the Christmas tree? I just don’t think so!
Before I jump into the books, I have to tell you what I did! I was so afraid I would miss Saint Nicholas Day this year, I set a reminder in my calendar. I am SO on top of things. Right? WRONG. I set it for a week early. So we set shoes out Wednesday night, and were SO excited to see Saint Nicholas had come and surprised the girls with new pajamas… only to learn I set the reminder a week too early! WHOOPS!
And back to the books — I absolutely love finding cute kids books for each holiday, and we usually dd one or two each year, so we have grown quite a collection. Today, I wanted to share my favorite Christmas books with you!
The Gift of the Magi and The Christmas Tree That Grew were two of my favorite Christmas books growing up. When we started building up our holiday book collection, those were first on my list! Another favorite was The Sweet Smell of Christmas. I remember being so excited to smell the page with the orange on it each time my mom pulled out the Christmas books!
As for new books we added this year, I picked up: The Last Stop on the Reindeer Express and Pick a Pine Tree. The Last Stop on the Reindeer Express is gorgeous. From the illustrations to the die cut pages, to the lift-a-flaps – just gorgeous. I love the illustrations in Pick a Pine Tree, and the rhyming text makes it an enjoyable read — and be prepared for your kiddos to be asking you to read this one over and over again!!
Felice The Christmas Fairy is in my cart now. The story looks so cute – it’s about a Christmas tree topper who is knocked off the tree by a grumpy little girl! The reviews look great, so this one will definitely be coming home soon 😉

Thanks for this list! A lot of mom bloggers are sharing the new “cool” books that came out new this year, and I bought a few and was really disappointed! I love that you’ve included books you loved as a child!
