Another week away with our families is in the books. This one had a bit of a rocky start. Our first rental house lost the steps to the beach due to erosion, and left us with somewhat of a cliff of death. We were making due with that when the water shut off, and the AC broke. Such a mess! Thankfully, the rental company was able to get us into a house on the other side of town (which was actually MUCH nicer of a house), so the week was saved!
Because the Great Lakes are so high this year, we did have to drive to a public beach and a state park for our beach time, but we still had a blast!
We ate at the Butler Deck, and I highly recommend it if you’re in the Saugatuck area! (Dave loved the olive burger, and the boom boom shrimp was so good!) On our last full day in Saugatuck, we bought tickets for a paddlewheel boat ride through the river and onto the big lake. Unfortunately, the waves were too big for us to go onto the big lake, but the girls enjoyed the boat ride (and I enjoyed quoting all of Titanic).
The view from our original rental!
Seeing the South Haven light house!
Our second rental for the week!
Our Tula carrier is a favorite!
David bought Peyton a boogie board, and we were all shocked by how good she was at it – it was the first time she’d even seen one! Such a fun afternoon!
On beach day #2, Adaline started digging in the sand! So cute!
Waiting for our boat ride, and feeding ducks!
If you watched my InstaStories from earlier in the week, you might have seen how excited the girls were about their cots from Regalo Baby. It’s the perfect size for London and Peyton, and it folds up like a camp chair, so it is PERFECT for travel. I had a lot of questions about whether or not the girls stayed in them all night. THEY DID. Granted, they are both good sleepers in general.
It was such a great week away with our families… but now: back to reality!
