You know we love monthly boxes around here, and the M is for Monster box knocked it out of the park, in our opinion!
When you sign up, you can select what Stage you would like, in addition to your monthly plan. The Mini Monster Box includes 2 themes, and comes in just under $30, and the full box includes 4 themes and is $59; like other subscription services, the longer you subscribe for, there are discounts (i.e. a 3 month subscription plan with 4 themes will only cost you $54 per month, as opposed to the $59 if you went month-by-month). I selected Stage 1 for London, since she will be starting Pre-School in the Fall. Peyton is in kindergarten, so we went with Level 3 for her (she did every activity without any issue, so I think this level would be better geared for a child who was just finishing up with Pre-School).
Our box came, and it included 4 themes for each girl. For example, one theme was Bunnies. There were 4 mini projects within the theme. Their themes were the same, but each task was at different levels, to reflect the Stage – if that makes sense? Exampe: London had to recognize some letters, whereas Peyton had sight words! Bonus: the box also includes everything you need to do all the activities (like markers, glue, play dough, etc!), we just needed a pair of scissors!
We whipped through our box in a weekend, while Adaline napped, and no one argued, no one whined or tattled, and (gasp!) no one asked to use their iPad. I’m giving this box three thumbs up just based on that fact alone! This would be a great learning game (since it’s fun, and extremely hands-on and doesn’t feel like school) for the end of summer, to get your kiddo back into the swing of learning! I think our favorite craft out of them all, was when the girls were able to plant their own grass seeds! We have had a blast watching their grass grow, and have been enjoying giving the grass “hair cuts”!
We made wreaths, planted grass, painted with cars, did some math, and even did a fun coffee filter marker umbrella craft! And that isn’t even half of the activities and projects that came in our box! Again, I cannot say enough good things about this box service! I felt like Mom-of-the-Year, since they got along, and were actually learning without getting bored! The girls were actually bummed when all our projects were done!
