I met David 7 years ago, on New Year’s Eve. It’s kind of a funny story – it involves me grabbing his butt and blaming it on someone else, getting his phone number, and ultimately being each other’s midnight kiss. Super romantic, right? As parents, we have a hard time getting a sitter to go out, but it’s a special evening for us, so for the past few years, we have had an arrangement with our sitter: we go out for an early bird dinner, and are back home in time for her to go out and have fun!
This years’ dinner reservation was at 6, at a fun restaurant downtown with 2 other couples. Then, we would head back and have a pajama party, and ring in 2017 with the girls. And apparently Mariah Carey, too.
We enjoyed some of the cutest (and delicious) candy courtesy of Sugar Wish. If you haven’t heard of them, you’re missing out. We were also sent a bottle of One Hope champagne to pop open to ring in the New Year. Profits from sales go to a number of charities, which you can read more about here. If you’re gonna celebrate, might as well celebrate AND donate to a good cause, right?
