Golf Weekend

As much as I dislike golfing, I absolutely love summertime at our country club. They host a few big tournaments throughout, and this weekend was the first of the season. David and his partner ended up tying for 10th place and Dave shot his all-time low on the back 9. He was mostly excited that his name was mentioned twice during the awards ceremony, while I was mostly excited to get dressed up and have a night off from mom duties.

The first night of the tournament is the Horse Race (no actual horses involved – I KNOW. I am just as bummed as you are). Basically, the golfers are the “horses”. A select few from he tournament are partnered up and play 4 holes, eliminating the worst on each hole. Everybody else follows along on golf carts and drinks. The weather was perfect, a sunny 84 degrees. This is probably SO awkward, but I always do a “spit test” on my dresses; I lick the fabric to see if it’ll show sweat… because sitting in a golf cart in heels and a dress in the sun, can be a struggle (i.e. swamp ass is a real thing, guys). The second night is awards, dinner, and dancing. Basically, a swamp-ass free zone.

(Fun fact: our babysitter, whom we have had since Peyton was teeny tiny, was in Nicaragua on a mission trip all month. She is such an amazing woman to leave for a whole month, to a country she’s never been to, with people she doesn’t know. But we definitely missed her!! She is finally back today, and I cannot wait to see how excited the girls are to see her!)

I followed a tutorial by Amber Clark to do my braid for the second night, I used my 24″ clip in extensions (for volume and length).

Today is Peyton’s first week out of school for the summer! The girls were all exhausted from the birthday bbq we went to yesterday, and let us sleep in. Hopefully, we can keep this trend going! Happy Monday, friends!!
