Nothing makes your kids look older than plopping them on the floor next to a newborn. Seriously. When did my little London become such a big girl? And don’t even get me started on Peyton! These three girls keep me busy, but I love watching their personalities blossom. But before they all grow up too soon, I can’t to capture this moment in our lives forever!
Peyton will be five in two months. Hard to believe my first baby is going to be so big! She is so mature for her age. She loves her baby dolls, and is always asking to help feed Adaline, or trying to help Lo get dressed. Peyton would wear a tutu and rain boots every day if she could! She loves art, and always draws special pictures for me and Dave. She can write everyone’s name, and I love her all-caps handwriting! We play a game where she writes down a hodgepodge of letters, and I try to pronounce the word. She’s OBSESSED with Taylor Swift, and dances through the house, singing “22”. This kid could live on pickles, olives, and goldfish crackers. She has her moments, though. Most of the time, her socks are “ruining her feet”, and when she gets frustrated with someone, she uninvites them to her birthday party! Speaking of her birthday, she wants a pony!
London is a character. She always has a toothy smile on her drool-covered face. She likes to run full-speed off of couches, assuming I’ll make it across the room, with a newborn in my arms, to catch her. 99% of the time, I do! Her signature move is downward dog, but hands-free. So a toddler headstand. She likes to crawl backwards, with a dorky grin, waiting for you to laugh with her. Her favorite word is “up”, and she definitely likes to be carried around. She likes to follow Peyton around, dancing to T Swift, yelling, “weegee!” which translates to “wiggle”. Homegirl loves strawberries and yogurt. She’s shorter than most 12 month olds, and its adorable. She spends the majority of her day following me around with my water bottle, my phone, Addy’s pacifier – basically anything I set down. Just this morning, she brought me my Red Bull, but not before taking a big sip – oops!! She’s super helpful with house chores; she helps with laundry over and empty the dishwasher! She’s obsessed with ducks and dogs, but her sisters are a close third. She holds the bottle for Addy, and if I look away for too long, she tries to pick her up.
Adaline is officially a month old. We don’t know much about her little personality yet, but she perks right up when she hears Peyton’s voice. She loves sleeping on me or Dave, or being in the Solly Wrap – read: hates being put down. She’s happiest when she can see out the window, especially when it’s bright white with fresh snow! She’s already fitting into 0-3 month clothes, which means she’s our biggest infant (both P and Lo wore newborn for months!) She’s pretty chill, but given what goes down in this crazy house on a nightly basis (dance parties, Dave chasing the dogs with Lo on his shoulders, or daddy-daughter wrestling matches), she doesn’t have much choice than to just go along with it!
As crazy as life is, and even though I haven’t really slept in two years, and my hair is mostly dry shampoo, and I sent Peyton to school yesterday with a low fever because I needed a break from all three of them, and I could have kicked Lo to the curb last night, as she was climbing up me, in an effort to get into the oven while I was making dinner, and I was googling when a baby can cry it out the other night when Addy was a hot mess, I wouldn’t trade these three monsters for anything! The good always outweighs the rough times, and I love watching them grow up together!
