Peyton and London went back to school yesterday. I cannot believe I have a 3rd grader, let alone the fact that London is in Kindergarten! On the eve of the first day of school, we headed out for ice cream to celebrate.
The girls woke up Monday morning, ready for the first day of school. Despite London changing her mind that she wanted cold lunch about 8 minutes before we left to catch the bus, the morning went off without a hitch. Peyton has stepped into her big sister role in the biggest way the past few days, and it is making my heart burst.

London’s backpack is 40% off today when you use code SUNSET.
She volunteered to be London’s bus buddy. On the bus, the kindergartners sit in the front, and the bigger kids toward the back. Peyton gave up sitting with her friends in the “big kid section” to sit with London up front. When the girls got off the bus Monday afternoon, it was raining. Peyton was carrying both her backpack AND London’s, so London could cover her head and run. London also told me that Peyton walked her to her classroom. Cue all the heart eyes.
Yesterday, I read a quote the other day that said, “a woman without her sister is like a bird without its wings.” This has been proven true the last few days!
As for me and Addy, we have adjusted pretty well. Addy missed her sisters most of the morning, and is eagerly waiting for next week when she starts Pre-School. Me? I went to Target and Trader Joe’s yesterday and was home before 10am, and has the produce washed, cut, and stored in glass containers shortly after. Which lead to a whole fridge clean out… which lead to a pantry clean out, and a clean out of the spice rack. I used labels from The Talented Kitchen (I’ll share more about that in a later post!). Basically, the house is most likely going to be spotless before Labor Day – haha!
Send us all the good second day of school vibes!!
