Weekend Roundup

Ah! It feels like fall today! The leaves here are even starting to change, AND London slept a solid 7 hours straight last night. Happy birthday to me, indeed! It’s true! I am 27 today (I had to call my mom and double check. Pregnancy brain is real, people). We celebrated Friday night with a kid-free date night. It was pouring rain, but we wanted to eat on the patio, since it’ll probably be one of the last days we’ll be able to…and we were treated to one of those most spectacular double rainbows! And, as a common white girl, I never miss a chance to take a photo of a rainbow – or a bump pic!

Fun fact: I have been playing soccer since I was 4. AYSO, travel, Little Caesers, Premier, adult co-ed, you name it, so when Peyton said she wanted to play soccer this year, my heart literally burst. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this weekend since we signed her up. She did so well! Her team lost (the other team had what looked like a six-year-old on it. seriously, I want to see a birth certificate), but I don’t think Peyton had any idea what the score was! It was so cute watching a pack of four-year-olds running around after a ball.

Saturday night, we went out with some friends on their boat. It was freezing, but the river association put on a GREAT firework show. It seriously rivaled the Fourth of July.  Sunday, we took the girls out on a lunch date, then headed home to loaf and watch football for the rest of the day.

And now, we are back to our Monday grind. We are looking forward to a dinner date to co-celebrate on of my best friends’ birthdays! Peyton asked where my party was and what color the plates would be. I had to explain to her that birthdays aren’t even half as cool when you’re turning 27. She decided she never wants to get old – I’m with you, sista!
