With London constantly on the go, we have turned a corner of our downstairs into a pseudo-playroom. Dave once had dreams of a ping pong table and an arcade game or two. Oops. It’s been a bit of a chore filling it up. Since it’s open to the rest of our house (yay open floor-plan), if it’s messy, there is no hiding it. So we had to be selective on what went into it. It’s still a work in progress, but the girls don’t seem to mind!
The most amazing thing has happened in the last few weeks. The bigger (and less breakable?) London gets, the more she and P are playing together. And I don’t mean playing in the kitchen. I mean, Peyton laying on the floor while London crawls on top of her and they both fall over in giggles. It’s the cutest thing.
I made the tent in the corner this spring (you can find the DIY post here). I’m sitting at art table (which you can see here). Both girls love the kitchen they got for Christmas, and London is finally tall enough to reach the counter. P likes to cook for Lo, while Lo happily tries to eat every piece of play food in her path. We outfitted the tent (which serves as a pirate ship 90% of the time) with a super soft faux fur rug, and a few fun pillows. Our favorite BabyLit books are scattered in front of it.
I’m hoping to get a little table for the kitchen and a book shelf in the next few months. Just to help with the clutter. Also on my to-do list is to finish outfitting the wall, it’s pretty bare now. I’m listing all the sources below, let me know if I missed something you’re interested in!
Ragamuffin wall pennant c/0 | babe cave wall banner | canvas print c/o | play kitchen | play food here, here, and here | grocery cart | baby stroller | tassels | heart pillow | ABC pillow | faux fur rug | babylit books | rocking horse | toy steering wheel | peyton’s shirt
We’ll be spending this rainy Friday in the playroom! Enjoy your long weekends!
I loved the tent when you first made it. Do your girls like it? Like do they use it often? We don’t have a lot of space, but the DIY looks pretty easy and I’ve been wanting to make them one!
They use it more than I thought they would! It does fold flat, for storage! 😉
Loving the wall decor so far! You’ll have to share again when it’s finished!
Of course! Thanks lady!
