We had a beautiful Mother’s Day/birthday celebration for my mom. My brother and parents drove out and met us at the Country Club for an ah-mazing brunch spread. Naturally, P made a meal out of cheese cubes, pickles, and her latest favorite: capers. She eats like a pregnant woman. I accidentally gave her a hot pepper, thinking it was a normal red pepper, so that was fun. It’s not a real Mother’s Day brunch unless you’re catching half chewed food in your hand.
Nothing a mimosa (or 3) can’t solve.
But let’s talk about this dessert spread. I mean really.
After brunch, we headed back to our house for gifts and food comas. Peyton was so excited to give my mom the African Violets we have been trying not to kill for the past few days. Leave it to P to pick out a difficult plant! We also got my mom a few bath bombs from Lush (love this, this, and this!), a diffuser, and her new obsession: the portofino shirt! (totally eying this one for myself!)
We are looking at a super rainy and extra muggy week. I am planning a rainstorm water balloon fight mid-week for Peyton – she better watch out!!
