It can be overwhelming shopping for a new season — especially when that new season also marks one year of practically everything closing, and everyone investing in loungewear 😉 I am excited to share 5 wardrobe staples for spring 2021 with you guys today!
After taking a good look at my closet, and found that I typically gravitate toward wearing the same few pieces on repeat. I am a creature of habit, so if I find a shirt I like, you better believe I am buying it in all 3 colors. It’s easy to get a week’s worth of outfits out of a handful of shirts and a decent pair of shorts or two — and it takes all the “what do I wear?” drama out of the morning!
Spoiler alert: if you were expecting a closet clean-out/capsule wardrobe post, you’ve come to the wrong place. This is more like a busy mom’s guide to getting dressed!

5 Wardrobe Staples For Spring
These shorts are the best ever denim shorts I have ever owned. I wore them religiously last summer, and they’re back in a few new washes this year. They are SO comfortable and SO flattering. You can see these shorts in action in my South Beach travel guide post here.
These denim shorts do have a fairly high rise, and are short. But they do cover my whole booty, and the way they are cut shorter on the sides of your legs really helps to elongate your legs! They are one of my top wardrobe staples for spring!
Also pictured above: my TKEES sandals. These are hands-down the only sandals I will wear. I have high arches, and my ankles get really sore in a lot of sandals, but my TKEES are leather (I avoid the gloss ones), and super comfortable. I have walked all over Marco, all over Vegas, Chicago, and South Beach and never had a pair break on me!
The Foundations come in a handful of amazing neutral shades, so they go with literally everything. I did just get the leopard print flip flops pictured above, and cannot wait for the rest of the snow to melt, so I can rock them!

I used to think I didn’t look good in hats — or hats just weren’t “my style”… then I got my Brixton Joanna hat. It’s the only hat I have ever loved. It’s worth noting that I never get a big hat line on my forehead when wearing my Brixton (but I definitely do suffer from hat-hair 😂😉)
I have the Brixton in honey with the honey strap, and honey with the black strap. Honestly, I love the honey on honey the best. My sister in law got one of the colored Brixton Joanna hats after falling in love with my Joanna on a family trip, and it is SO gorgeous in person!
I pack my Brixton in my carry-on whenever we fly, and it holds up extremely well. Once, Joanna flew off my head on our boat, and was then run over by our boat and a wakeboarder. Joanna rose to the surface like a majestic phoenix, and once dried out, was good as new! (and yes, we refer to the hat as “Joanna” now – after she flew off my head, I yelled, “NOOO JOANNA!” it just came out 😂 and it’s stuck!)
A few other must-have wardrobe staples for spring are: my go-to aviators. They are so stylish, and are available in a few different lens colors.
Another must? A great basic tee. Abercrombie has the softest ever fabrics for their basics. These drapey tees can be worn over leggings, with jeans and a front tuck, or even knotted. They’re so versatile, and come in a million colors. I stock up for the season whenever Abercrombie has a sale, since they are some of my wardrobe staples for spring!
