Maybe it’s just me, but this time of year makes it so hard to get dressed! The mornings are freezing, so I end up dressed like mid-January, and then I am shedding layers by noon! That is when having a closet stocked with transitional pieces is clutch. You know I loooove snagging on-trend pieces from Red Dress – so today, I am styling 3 looks with transitional pieces from Red Dress with a “wear it now” and “wear it later” vibe!
Look Number 1:
This little floral number is actually a pair of shorts! I love that they look like a skirt, but I don’t have to be self-conscious about a wardrobe malfunction on a breezy day ????

A cute pair of shorts and a tank is my go-to outfit when I don’t know what else to wear! For a warmer look, I am rocking a cropped tank with these fun printed shorts. The rust color instantly gave me fall vibes, but it’s totally wearable now, as well!
Take this look from summer fun to falling for fall with 2 easy additions: Add a cropped corduroy or suede moto jacket and sub your sandals for ankle boots. I kept the rust/neutral look here by adding this cord jacket. Just add a brown leather shoulder bag and a PSL!!

Look Number 2:
Never underestimate the power of shorty shorts and long sleeves! I love avoiding wearing jeans by pairing a sweater or a long sleeve with shorts. We don’t get many months of “Shorts Weather” soooo I’m embracing it as long as I can!

This cowl neck sweater goes from those summer nights to autumn breeze and pumpkins plz in a snap! Simply sub jean shorts for a skirt/shorts with a major fall vibe. I am rocking the same floral shorts from look 1, but it has a whole different vibe here, don’t you think?
A suede or leather skirt would also look SO cute with a chunky turtleneck sweater, too! Again, sub the sandals for boots to complete the look. Since the sweater has a lot of volume, I opted for ankle boots, but if your sweater/turtleneck is more fitted, a mid-calf/knee-high boot would be super cute!

Look Number 3:
Floral dresses definitely have a summer feeling, but you can 100% make them work in early fall!

This dress is super fun and flirty. It IS a little shorter, but it definitely helps that the back is a little longer than the front! Also, I feel like the summery look would be so cute for a baby shower or a wedding shower!
To switch this look up by once again adding boots. I stuck with ankle boots because I liked the proportions better, and added my favorite ever denim jacket. A good denim jacket is the king of all transitional pieces!! It can change an entire outfit up, and legit matches everything (any of the above outfits could work for fall with a denim jacket!)
