This summer, we are making it a priority to sit and read each day. I love finding books that are relatable, purposeful, and easy-to-understand for the girls. In partnership with Zonderkidz, I am so excited to shate London’s current favorite book today: The Beginner’s Bible: Timeless Children’s Stories.
This checks each of my 3 boxes. It is relatable, because it tells the stories London learns at church on Sunday. London and I will be reading through, and she’ll get excited, and say, “Oh! I learned about this!”
The Beginner’s Bible is purposeful – which might be the most important. Our girls are familiar with a lot of these stories, but it is also a great choice for families who may not know where to start when trying to teach their kids about faith and the Bible! Have you been to a book fair at your child’s school?ย There are so many diaries, sticker books, and character books that have no life lessons. I love how The Beginner’s Bible is a book the girls can learn from – and take away some of the lessons, to apply them in their own lives!
Lastly, The Beginner’s Bible is easy-to-understand. London loves the illustrations, and she likes to guess their emotions before I read.
Just yesterday, we were reading, and London says, “Oh, mama, the king is mad! Why is he mad?” and we read on to learn why!
She also loves the story of Samson and his hair – see her flexing? This is one we read every night before bed!
Because The Beginnerโs Bible is an illustrated Bible for kids with 94 of the most well-known and beloved stories of the Bible, it is perfect for preschoolers and families with early readers! The pages are laid out with a little bit of text and a colorful illustration on each page, which helps keep little ones engaged, like Adaline, our resident Early Page Turner ๐
We cannot recommend this enough! Have you read it with your children? And did you know about The Beginner’s Bible Store on Amazon? You can shop numerous titles, fun sticker books, and activity books, as well as The Beginner’s Bible: Timeless Children’s Stories.
