While I am not big on New Year’s Resolutions, one goal I set for myself this year was to make time for me. I’ve shared a bit about this on Instagram. Typically, I set my alarm, and get up 15-20 minutes before everyone else. This gives me some quiet time to gather my thoughts for the day, have some breakfast (without Addy and Lo asking for a bite), and to take an uninterrupted shower. It really is the little things, right?
With Mother’s Day approaching, I want to encourage you to take some “me time” – whether it’s in the morning, midday, or evening. It can do SO much to change your attitude, and definitely helps de-stress. I am excited to be partnering with Dearfoams to share a few of my favorite Me Time activities for busy moms!
My Favorite Me Time Activities
Book and Tea
This one is a no-brainer. But making time for it can be tough! When is the last time you sat and read a book? And I don’t mean The Pokey Little Puppy – I mean a book you really wanted to read? I love to cozy up with a comfy pair of slippers on this chair in our foyer with a cup of chai tea and one of the many coffee table books I’ve hoarded, but never really sat and read. This chair gets amazing light! This is a great way to get the creative juices flowing, and find inspiration!
Take a bath
Whether it’s a bubble bath or with a glass of wine, taking a soak after the kids are in bed is a great way to decompress from the day – especially if it was one of those days. It’s a great way to mentally hit the “reset” button, and prep yourself for tomorrow! I love these bath salts and this detoxing bath soak,
Pamper Yourself
Getting out to have a pedicure isn’t a luxury everyone has. Of course, if you do, get up right now and go, girl! You can easily do one at home, or have a fun Mom’s Night In, and have some girlfriends over for a fun spa night! Check out my blog post here for some fun ideas!
Sheet masks are another at home pampering idea that is super easy but SO effective! After I use a mask, I have been using my quartz roller! I find that it helps the serum penetrate deeper into my skin. When you’re skin looks and feels good, you feel good! This soothing mask is one of my favorites, and I love a good eye gel session!
Each of my Me Time activities can be enjoyed at home, which make them a no-fuss way to spoil yourself a little. Even if your idea of Me Time is snuggling up in bed, in your favorite slippers, and binge watching a favorite television show – make the time! Finding the time – or making the time – for yourself will do wonders, and is the best Mother’s Day gift you can give yourself.
But, while we are talking about gifting yourself, be sure to check out the cute slipper styles available at Dearfoams!
I would love to hear how you make time for yourself! Let me know in the comments below!
