One of my favorite Christmas traditions with the girls is to build a gingerbread house. Last year, I bought 3 kits. The first kit arrived all cracked and broken. The second set, I imploded and cracked it. The third was barely held up with toothpicks and extra icing.
Like all years, our Elf on the Shelf surprises the girls with a gingerbread house kit (also, how cute is this one?) – I think it’s their favorite day of Elf on the Shelf! This year, I handed the reigns over to Peyton. I gotta say, she blew me out of the water!
I was so impressed with their teamwork. No one bickered or argued. Peyton showed London where to decorate, and those three-year-old fine motor skills stepped up to the challenge. Their finished result is 100% better than any gingerbread house I have ever made solo. So, hats off you you, Peyton!
Update: the gingerbread house lasted a solid 30 second after I snapped that photo, because they both popped those Kisses on top into their mouths as fast as they could! 😉
