Happy weekend!! This week has been CRAZY. Between coming down from the Fourth, we headed up north to visit some good friends, came back to unpack and do 50 loads of laundry, just in time for another golf tournament weekend! Whew!
We got up to Torch Lake Monday. The drive took a little over 2 and a half hours, and the last 20 minutes, London played our favorite game of How Long Can You Scream. But other than that, the trip up was pretty easy! If you’ve never been to Torch Lake, you should! It’s a HUGE 19 mile lake, and the water is so clear and blue, it looks like the Caribbean! The weather was awesome, so we took a boat ride across the lake to a restaurant where you can dock your boat while you eat – so cute. On the way back, London passed out. The boat music was SO loud, it was windy, since we were going about 30 mph, and there were 2 foot waves. Home girl slept through it all! Peyton had a blast, and of course, ended up “driving” the boat [read: Peyton sat on our friend’s lap, and excessively honked the horn]
We spent the rest of the day outside, and I even got Peyton out on the paddle board with me! The sun zapped us, so we had an early night and grilled for dinner. It was London’s first time sleeping not at our house, so I didn’t have high expectations, but she did alright in the pack n play (which is SO easy to put together and take down!)
Tuesday, we woke up to what felt like a fall morning. Monday was 88, Tuesday was 54. Ah, Michigan weather at its finest! We decided to drive down to Travese City for the Cherry Festival. I’m so glad we did! Peyton had a blast playing carnival games (we came home with a few new stuffed friends!) and riding rides.
I am already counting down until we head up north to Lake Huron in a few weeks!!
^ one guess who didn’t want to leave the carnival!

I am so looking forward to Sunday. Finally, a day to sit with the girls all day, without having an event or loads of laundry to do!!
Your link to lo’s hat don’t work! Just so you know!
Looks like you had the best vacay!
Oh! Thanks for letting me know!!!! It’s a baby gap scalloped sun hat FYI 😉
Can you share how you occupy Peyton in the car for that long??
Looks like a fun vacation (:
She honestly enjoyed looking out the window! We have this road trip bingo game from the target dollar spot a month or so ago, and she loved playing that. But she slept the whole ride home like London so we didn’t have to do much entertaining coming home!!
