We were invited to kick off the holiday season in style at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown Hotel. This was actually our first time coming to Cleveland! I had been as a child, but we were excited to visit somewhere new, and experience some holiday magic in Cleveland with Hilton.
Where We Stayed
Located in downtown Cleveland, the Hilton Cleveland Downtown Hotel had amazing views and SO MUCH MORE. When I walked into the lobby, the first thing I noticed was the really cool moss wall! The entire hotel had a modern vibe, which we absolutely loved.
We parked in the lot, which was included with the Mr Kringle Suite. We woke up to rain on Sunday, but thankfully, the property had a tunnel to the parking ramp! It was a little chilly inside, but much warmer and drier than walking outside would have been! The tunnel also had this really cool display, and a few projectors along the way! Definitely a unique feature!!
The Mr Kringle Suite
The Mr Kringle Suite was the whole reason we road tripped to Cleveland!! Rumor has it a very magical guest has taken up residence at the hotel, but he gets very busy this time of year ???? We cuddled up, get cozy, and enjoy the magic of Mr. Kringle’s private quarters. Guys, this was so full of holiday magic, and the girls’ jaws dropped when we opened the door to the Mr. Kringle Suite.
^ I snapped this as I walked into the room – welcome to the Mr. Kringle Suite!!
Our hotel room, on the 25th floor, had amazing views. We actually saw a freighter entering the harbor when we walked in!
The room was completely decked out! We had a Christmas tree in each room, garlands everywhere, with Christmas lights twinkling! On the table, the girls were delighted to find cookies (and milk in the fridge), with a personalized letter from Santa himself. The paper was golden and even had a wax seal – it was the most legit letter from Santa I’ve ever seen ????
I swear there was something new and exciting every time we turned around! On the ottoman, there were a few adorable holiday books, as well as some family-favorite holiday DVDs for us to enjoy on the 55″ LCD TV. We were also thrilled to discover robes for the whole family!
^ the girls were clearly loving the holiday magic!
What We Did
Typically, we hit the ground running when we travel, but 2020 has taught us to slow down a little bit, and that is just what we did! We sat and enjoyed the holiday magic of just being in the suite, and read a few of the holiday books. It was nice to unwind from the drive. Of course, we also enjoyed some of Santa’s cookies! ????
We decided to check out The Greater Cleveland Aquarium before dinner. They currently have limitations to the amount of visitors at a time, and we did have to purchase tickets online ahead of time. We ordered ours from the parking lot, and didn’t have an issue getting in on the next time slot. It was a fairly small aquarium, but the limited crowds worked in our favor. The girls ran around, and we all loved the Sea Tube — seeing massive sharks swimming overhead is an awesome sight!
Before bed, we headed to the pool at the Hilton! The girls were thrilled to learn it was kept at 85 degrees. It was a great way to run off some of that extra energy before bedtime!
Where We Ate
We opted to have all our meals at the hotel.
Eilot’s Bar had such a fun atmosphere, and our dinner server was SO friendly and attentive. Dave and I both went with the quesadilla (which was so good), and the girls all had the mac n cheese! Rave reviews on everything!
On the 32nd floor, you’ll find Bar 32. This is an adults only space, and had AMAZING city views. The windows wrapped all the way around. I snuck away for a bit to check it out, and test out The View, which I was told was their most popular cocktail. Spoiler alert: it was delicious!
We headed to Eliot’s again for breakfast Sunday morning. Personally, I found more variety on the breakfast menu than the dinner menu, but both meals were great! Dave and I each had an omelet for breakfast, and the girls had scrambled eggs, fruit, and an assortment of pastries. We got down there around 9 and beat the breakfast rush. It was fairly busy when we were finishing up!
Peace of Mind with CleanStay
Hilton CleanStay with Lysol protection gave us peace of mind while traveling. There were sanitization stations throughout the hotel.
Even with the excitement and festive set up and décor, we felt safe and noticed the Hilton CleanStay program/protocol. Our room even had a door seal – so we know no one had entered since it had been cleaned!
^ I legit loved seeing the remote sanitized and cleaned! You can read more about this program here, if you’re interested!
You can book your stay in the Mr Kringle Suite here. Our weekend in Cleveland was filled with holiday magic, and we are blasting Christmas music as I write this post, in the glow of our own Christmas tree ???? ‘Tis the season!!
