It’s that time of year again! Actually – it’s a little later this year, but it’s time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – also known as the NSale on social! If anything, the slightly later start to the sale just pushes it closer to fall, which makes buying cardigans and booties a little more practical!
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
This sale is unlike most sales, where you can shop marked down items from the previous season. No, the NSale is way cooler.
Nordstrom releases brand-new fall merchandise at insanely discounted prices – some items are marked down by several hundred dollars. You can save big on brands like: The North Face, Free People, Hanky Panky, Spanx, Socialite, and UGG – even Nordstrom’s higher-end designers team up to offer exclusive items. Think exclusive savings from names like: Tory Burch, Gucci, and more!
Why is it such a big deal?
Well, aside from saving big on new-for-fall items, this sale runs for a short time. Once the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends, prices go back up — and some items are gone forever. You won’t find some of these items (or prices like this) for the rest of the season!
When can I shop?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale rewards cardholders with early access to shop the sale. Cardholders are divided into groups, based on their Nordy Club status (which is based on you spending). Those who spend the most get to shop first!
The Early Access Sale for Nordstrom cardholders opens on August 13th. ONLY Nordstrom debit or credit cardholders can shop the sale during this time.
This is a big deal because popular items will sell out quickly, so if you’re able to shop early, you get the first pick and your size is almost guaranteed to be available.
There is still time to sign up, so you can shop the Early Access! Just can sign up for a Nordstrom credit card here (known as the “Nordy Club”). I would recommend signing up this week – however, you will receive all your card information digitally, so you could sign up right before the sale. (Your physical card will be mailed to you).
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to everyone (non-cardholders) August 19–30. Prices go up August 31.
What should I buy?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great time to plan for fall and winter. I try to stock up on winter coats for the girls, as well as winter boots for everyone. Of course, I love shopping for cute fall styles, like cardigans and ankle boots.
There are typically always a few “must have” items. These will typically sell out, but keep checking back frequently. Nordstrom often restocks some items little-by-little throughout the sale!

Preview the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
This is super exciting! This year, for the first time, Nordstrom is giving everyone the ability to preview the sale items this year. The Preview opens on July 24th. This is brand new this year! I love that Nordstrom is doing this, because it gives everyone the chance to save items to your Wish List, so you can check out faster when it’s time to shop. You can check out the Preview here.
Any other Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Tips?
Hands down, the best thing about Nordstrom is their customer service! If you order something online and it doesn’t fit, you can return it for free online or in the store. Each package comes with a return shipping label – you simply fill out the form inside, slap on the label, and you’re good to go. If you’re unsure on sizes on a particular item, I would suggest ordering two sizes and returning one, versus ordering one and then trying to exchange it… As popular items WILL sell out.
