Well, Christmas has come and gone. I said it once, and I’ll say it again: December FLEW. It seems like the month was a whirlwind of attending parties, and we closed the holidays out by hosting twice!
On the 23rd, we had family over for a traditional ham dinner. It was so cute to see the girls get along with their cousins and play. The adults played the annual pass gift game, and no one got mad, no fights broke out! A true Christmas miracle 😉 Anyone else’s pass gift game get rowdy?!
On Christmas Eve, we packed up and headed across the state for our big family party. Again, the girls got to see cousins they only see once or twice a year, so that was a treat! We got home entirely too late, and I was up until 1am playing Santa!
The girls surprised us on Christmas morning by sleeping until 7:30 (which is sleeping in for them!) We have the “You can open your stockings, but wait for the tree” rule, but I loved waking up to hearing them gasping and squealing with joy! After the hustle of the presents, and cleaning up our living room – which looked like a scene from The Purge, we got ready to host again!
The girls were so excited to have both sets of grandparents at the house on Christmas – a tradition we started a few years ago! I served up the remaining ham with crab legs! You can head to this blog post to see how I cook the crab!)
Peyton has started her own tradition – she loses a tooth on Christmas Day! This is the second year in a row! SO funny!

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!
