Admittedly, I am not the most organized person; I’m sure Dave will be the first to attest to that fact! Keeping a diaper bag, let alone keeping one that was organized enough to be functional, has been a challenge for me. Usually, I end up throwing a zip lock bag full of Cheerio’s and a few diapers into my purse, and head out. Did it work? Sure. Was it ideal? Not at all. I would end up forgetting to take things out before a nice dinner, go to grab my lipstick, and out comes a diaper, a tampon, an empty squeezer pouch, a pacifier, and probably somebody’s tiny shoe.
When Cute as a Button Baby Boutique reached out for me to review the new Charlotte + Asher Cabrielle Diaper Bag, it was a total game changer! (Psst! There’s a promo code at the end of the post!)
Not only is the bag classic and sophisticated, but it’s extremely simple. Simplicity translates to easy in mom-speak. The inside is bright, which makes it easy to find where I threw my car key when we get to “throw and go mode” (you know, when the kids hit their breaking point, and you just gotta pick up and get going…when you just don’t have an extra 5 minutes to fumble around, looking for your sanity, let alone a key). There are plenty of pockets inside which make it nearly impossible to not have things organized. If everything has a pouch, there’s no room for a mess! The bag is also very deep, so I can cram two kids’ worth of stuff into it, without things hanging out, or worse: falling out. The changing pad is HUGE. Most diaper bags I’ve used in the past have a very narrow pad, and any baby over 4 months is hanging off – ew. I was shocked when I unfolded this changing pad the first time. Yet it still folds up and slips easily into its own pocket!
As for what I consider diaper bag must-haves? Obviously diapers and wipes! We love The Honest Company’s Hypoallergenic Baby Wipes and the Honest Diapers. I keep the Soothing Bottom Wash and Hand Sanitizer Spray in my bag, too, since you never know when your baby might have a blowout! Snacks for London are a must, and she’s been on a Puffs from Plum Organics kick lately, and you can’t feed a toddler without having wet wipes handy – we love The Neat Cheeks! I never go anywhere without a Solly Baby Wrap, since it seems to be the only thing to settle Addy down when we are out and about. I top it off with their favorite toy of the week (currently this squeaky one).

Consider buying two diaper bags a small one for quick trips and a larger one for longer outings. Some parents keep a basic diaper bag or changing supplies in the car at all times!

You ‘re so smart. Not packing 10434 toys! Some of these diaper bag posts are ridiculous – i like yours. just the essentials!
