So what does an almost five year old want for her birthday? A pony. Very, very impractical. Other things on her list include: a kitty, a trip to Disney (uh, yes please!), and a pool. Since none of those are happening, we sat down at my computer, and started looking up things she blurted out. Like: butterflies, oil pastels, maps, etc. We compiled a list, to answer all those “what does Peyton want for her birthday?” calls and texts that are rolling in along with RSVPS.
crop top | map set | elsa dress | chalk | hair elastics | oil pastel set | matching game
A little girl in a crop top? Yes, yes, and yes. I can already imagine her wearing this under overalls, with a high waisted skirt, and with leggings and a denim jacket. Now, we just need warm weather!
Peyton and London have a new game, they call “train”. They line up all their little chairs, and pack up a diaper bag. Then, they hop on the train, as Peyton yells, “All aboard!” and London yells, “choo choo!” The map set comes with little tickets and a passport. Which will take their game to a whole new level!
Peyton ended up putting a foot through a seam in her Elsa dress during an intense game of “Princess and Bag Guys.” My makeshift sewing job lasted approximately two days before she burst through it again. And, since my sewing talents don’t go beyond replacing a button or a quick seam job, and the fact that the dress was originally about $20 – it’s beyond repair. Since then, she’s been asking for a new Elsa dress.
She loves matching and memory games. This butterfly and spider one is so gorgeously illustrated!
Peyton has been learning about art mediums at school, her favorite being oil pastels. She’s been talking non-stop about them. I love to feed her artistic side, so these will be perfect. We will just have to keep them out of London’s reach, since she’s added crayons to her daily diet.
As for things she doesn’t necessarily want, but needs, I’ll be getting her our favorite Honest Company Deeply Nourishing Shampoo & Body Wash and Deeply Nourishing Conditioner. Since we spent a lot of time outside and in the water (whether it’s in the pool or in the river/lake) once it warms up, keeping her superfine hair clean and healthy is a big concern! We love The Honest Company for exactly that reason: clean, healthy hair (and it smells amazing, too!). Honest is currently offering $10 off a minimum purchase of $25 with promo code GET10 at checkout (first time customers only, may only be used once per new user)
And now, off to stuff what feels like 50 goody bags for Peyton’s party! I cannot believe she’s going to be FIVE.

How messy are oil pastels? They’re like paint crayons, aren’t they? Ha so not an artist but I don’t know if I’d let my daughter have them inside!
Jenna says
Not too messy – but definitely not something for an 18 month old little sister to get into 😉
