Christmas has come and gone, and now enter that week-long lull where we sit and wait for New Year’s Eve. We took the downstairs tree down, but I can’t bring myself to start on the upstairs one, or all our festive decorations. The girls are still rocking their Christmas jammies. Christmas, we can’t quit you!
We woke up on Christmas Eve, loaded the car, and headed across the state for a family party. It was full of little cousin dance parties, lots of booze (none for captain preggo), and even more laughter. My got home way past everyone’s bedtime, but we made time to lay out Peyton’s reindeer feed. [It’s oatmeal mixed with red and green glitter, you know to attract Rudolph and Prancer!] It is always my favorite thing to play Santa. While David ate the cookies, I wrote a note back to Peyton, and got to work on the stockings.
After the chaos of opening presents, which is probably the closest our house will ever come to The Purge, we feasted on festive pancakes, while we waited for all the grandparents to arrive. Then we did it all over again.
Saturday, we had David’s family over for our final holiday party. Safe to say, we are all hammed-out, and will probably pop if we have one more buckeye. But ’tis the season!!
During the whole she-bang, I only managed to have the one family photo taken, but I will always remember this Christmas! London was so in awe of everything, and absolutely loved opening her presents. Peyton was DYING for the Barbie Camper, and was so excited when she saw it open under the tree (her note from Santa explained that Santa and her Elf on the Shelf, Anna Sparkle, had been playing with it).
peyton’s white dress | london’s white dress | and christmas jammies | peyton’s second jammies | london’s second jammies | my scarf (new, thanks Dave!) | my slippers | london’s dress | peyton’s dress (similar)
We didn’t get our white Christmas, but today we are bracing ourselves for what the news is calling an apocalyptic ice storm. Yay. Not.
I hope your Christmas was the merriest!!

There is nothing sadder than taking the tree down!! My vote is for it to be a year round decoration 😉

I’ll link them here, instead of doing a post of it, since it’d be a boring post lol
I received: isabel marant ankle boots (which i’ve wanted for YEARS now!), the world’s most amazing scarf, this candle (which smells AMAZING!), this coat, and a few pair of my favorite boot socks! I hope you had an awesome christmas!!

Looks like the perfect holiday! how do you make your cookies so perfect??
Jenna says
thank you!!! I use the royal icing recipe from the food network and pipe of out of zip lock bag – i use a toothpick instead of using scissors to cut the corner, it makes for more precise lining!!
